If you’re a smoothie lover, it can be disheartening when your kids dislike, or outright refuse to even try smoothies.

Kids can be picky, fussy and uncooperative. Especially when it comes to food and drinks. While smoothies to us look like heaven blended in a cup, to them it can seem bizarre and gross.

Here are some ways to get your kids to try and get hooked on and eventually making their own smoothies.

Tips

1.Drink smoothies in front of them

kids emulate the behavior of those around them. If you seem to be enjoying it, they’ll be more likely to want to try.

2.Put it in a nice cup.

Kids tend to have favorite cups or cups they like more than others, by putting the smoothie in their favorite up, they’ll associate it with something positive and tasty.

3.Give them names.

Not your kids.. I hope you already named them. Otherwise they’re definitely too young for smoothies.

But do name the smoothies! Kids need labels and names for things. It helps simplify their world and lets them reference it later.

4.Get them involved in making smoothies.

Kids can go to some extreme ingredients that definitely wouldn’t taste good. Instead, place 2-3 options of 3-4 ingredients and let them pick from each.

They will choose from what’s available and if you choose the right options, they can’t end up with a smoothie that won’t taste good.

5.Add straws

I don’t know about you, but when I make myself a smoothie for a lazy afternoon, I enjoy picking out whatever color straw I want as much as I do drinking the smoothie.  This goes doubly so for kids.
