The story behind it

Passionfruit is one of those readily available, yet still exotic ingredients that we seem to only use sparingly. That is a shame, it has a rich flavor and goes so well in hundreds of different combinations.

Having hints of acidity, sweetness & sour, it can be complemented by or compliment a vast array of ingredients.

Ingredients

3 passion fruits
1 banana, chopped
1 small mango, peeled, stoned and chopped
300ml orange juice
ice cubes

But it isn’t all just flavor. Passionfruit is one of the few smoothie ingredients that has the medical compound alkaloid, harman.

Which works like a sedative, helping those with restlessness, insomnia and anxiety. So drink one of these before a stressful day, or at the end of your day to get some better rest.

Preparation

Scoop the pulp of the passion fruits into a blender and add the banana, mango and orange juice.
