The story behind it

If you’re anything like me, you NEED coffee in the morning. Breakfast on the other hand, definitely isn’t a priority. It might even be difficult to force yourself to eat something in the mornings.

If that’s the case, this might be right up your alley. This smoothie provides the morning boost that we need from caffeine, with the coffee flavor. But it does so while being incredibly filling and keeping us alert for far longer.

Ingredients

1 banana previously sliced and frozen
½ cup strong brewed coffee 120 ml, chilled
½ cup milk 120 ml, any variety
¼ cup rolled oats 25 g
Optional: spoonful of nut butter

Why is it so good for you

This one is a great breakfast. The caffeine keeps you alert, but is mixed with oats and banana for more balance, rather than a sugar rush that’ll leave you drained of energy shortly after. The oats inside keep you feeling full throughout the morning.

Thanks to this recipe, I can finally make it to the office without feeling like I need to eat a horse.

Preparation

Place the ingredients in the blender and blend till smooth.
