The story behind it

Are you getting enough fiber? You will be after this smoothie that’s for sure!
It can be hard to get a sufficient amount of fiber every day.

Unfortunately, most fiber rich foods also have the downside of tasting like a plank of wood.

Thankfully, by adding a few ingredients to flax milk we can maintain a high fiber intake. While still adding plenty of flavor and other health benefits.

Ingredients

1 cup Flax Milk
1 banana
2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
2 tablespoons almond butter (or sunflower seed butter)
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
4-5 dates, pitted
1 small handful baby kale or spinach (optional)
1 cup ice

Nutrition facts

Why is it so good for you

Flax milk contains no cholesterol or lactose, which is better for your heart.

Yet it does contain the often sought-after omega-3 fatty acids present in fish, which helps prevent cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

Rich in vitamin A, B12 and D, as well as calcium. Meaning you gain all of the benefits of cow milk, while avoiding the downsides.

It also provides a great creamy texture. Kale and Cocoa are amazing at improving our mental health and our moods. Making this a nutty and smooth drink that’s sure to keep you both healthy and happy.

I can go on. Basically if you’re dealing with some vitamin deficits, this is the smoothie you’re going to want.

The best part? It still tastes like a chocolate banana smoothie!
