Vegan Green Protein Power Smoothie

The story behind it

Now here’s a recipe I love right after yoga.

A green smoothie, that is filled with detoxifying ingredients as well as protein and antioxidants. It’s a great refresher that for me has become a post yoga ritual, without it I don’t feel like my exercise is complete.

It has a wonderfully refreshing taste, that is somewhere between cucumber salad and apple juice. It goes down smooth and has a bit of a kick to it, thanks to the ginger.

Ingredients

Servings: 2
2 cups chopped mango
1 cup spinach
2 small green apples chopped (skins on, core removed)
1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger peeled
2 tbsp chia seeds
1 heaped tbsp hemp protein
1 tsp spirulina powder
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk

Why is it so good for you

So, what’s so great about it?
Everything really, hemp protein is a great alternative to whey. While hemp protein has less protein per gram than whey, it also has fewer calories and the protein found inside it is healthier over all.

Additionally, we get our other nutritional needs (like iron) from the other ingredients. That means this one shake has everything you need in a well balanced and healthy meal.

Preparation

Place everything in the blender, blend till smooth.
